Come to the STEELPORT factory from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday, September 19th for the launch of our new 6” Boning Knife, along with some delicious BBQ samples from Podnah’s Pit and CheekyBBQ, exclusive limited release beer samples from pFriem Family Brewers and Little Beast Brewing, and demonstrations from Olympia Provisions and Piccone’s Corner breaking down pork using the new STEELPORT 6” Boning Knife.
All are welcome to come to this free neighborhood end-of-summer event to enjoy locally crafted food and drink, chef expertise, plus behind-the-scenes STEELPORT factory tours.

Podnah’s Pit Barbecue: Podnah’s is Portland’s original craft barbecue restaurant, and we’re so honored and excited to have these OG’s brining their delicious all wood fired, pit smoked BBQ to our party!
CheekyBBQ – A wonderful STEELPORT Knife supporter since day-one, Portland-based home chef Noah Cheek cooks up some of the tastiest bites you’ll see on social media, sharing his creations through his @cheekybbq account and at special events. He’ll be grilling up some tasty bites live and in-person at the STEELPORT factory for our party.
pFriem Family Brewers: award-wining brewers based in Hood River Oregon that live by the motto of “Proudly Crafted, Humbly Offered,” will come to Portland for our party at STEELPORT to serve tastings of an assortment of classic and limited release beers, including: Lager, their famous easy drinking their fresh and smooth with nuanced notes of melon and honey; West Coast IPA with bright aromatic hop aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine; and Limited Release Barrel Aged American Strong Dark, which is a bit of a mashup between Belgian Trappist recipe creation and American ale brewing and barrel aging techniques, resulting in elegant aromas of cask-strength Bourbon, dried plums, toasted nuts, and baking spices, and flavors of pecans, caramel, fig jam, and oak tannin.
Little Beast Brewing, the family owned, celebrated small-batch brewery in SE Portland will be serving a selection of special reserve beers and great food pairing beers, including: “Fera” American Brett Saison (2019 Good Food Award Winner!) perfect for any season that’s crisp, spicy, mildly tart, complex and just a touch funky; “Pinetop” West Coast IPA packed with Centennial, Mosaic and Chinook hops with aromas of pine and resin, lush notes of grapefruit and a subtle woodsy character it’s a delicious view from up here; and the reserve Camus XO Cognac Barrel Aged Radical Forces fermented with whole cluster Pinot Noir grapes from Finnigan Hill Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains (11.8% abv).
(5:30pm-6pm) Olympia Provisions: Matthew Jarrell, Olympia Provisions SE Restaurant Executive Chef, spent most of his childhood on a 10,000 acre cattle ranch in Australia, where he learned to raise, rear and butcher. At our party, Chef Matthew will demonstrate how home cooks can properly break down a Pork Loin, highlighting Olympia Provisions’ wonderful pasture-raised pork program.
(6pm-6:30) Piccone’s Corner: One of our favorite neighbors (just 2 blocks away from our factory!), Piccone’s Corner is an Italian-inspired eatery that has an incredible butcher counter selling pork from their very own farm, where they raise pastured hogs with the utmost respect for the animals and the land. At the party, the Piccone’s team will be using a STEELPORT Boning Knife to demonstrate how to properly break down a pork shoulder.
