Amazing experience
My experience with all your knives has been amazing for my kitchen. My wife and I love them, they trim briskets fruit veggies cut through briskets pork shoulders ham ribs like butter. We wash after every use and they have stayed very sharp since 1st day we bought them.

Very Sharp
We have the 4” paring and the 8” chef knives. Both have performed very nicely. The 4” paring is easy to handle, well balanced, and has maintained its edge. Very sharp. The same is to be said of the 8” chef knife. And they are both beautiful!

I'm proud to own it
A superb, beautiful knife that’s been a great pleasure to use! I’m proud to own it. I am a little bit still in the phase where I’m somewhat babying it, but I know it’s just as tough (or tougher) than any of my less precious knives. I put the first edge on it, during one of the sharpening classes, and I don’t regret it buying it and taking the class for a moment!

Best chef knife experience I’ve ever had. I own two dozen Japanese and German style knives. Kind of a knife nerd. The weight and balance are tremendous. Razor sharp. Lots of fun. Haven’t sharpened it yet which is next step.

One Knife I Always Reach For

Most comfortable chef knife and most beautiful item in my kitchen
I love my STEELPORT 8″ Chef Knife – the rounded spine and finger groove, plus the contoured and super smooth handle make it so comfortable in hand using a pinch grip. It’s hefty enough to cut through large squash with ease, while being nicely balanced right at the bolster center so it-feels quite light while chopping. I’ve had mine for about a year now and the original patina is still very visible, with some patina of my own starting to develop. Looking forward to seeing how the steel continues to change colors over the years! With the beautiful burl wood handle and obviously high-end design and construction, this knife really elevates my whole kitchen.

Both Tough and Comfortable

Amazing Knife. My Go-to Favorite now.
High quality, beautifully made knife. The carbon steel blade stays sharper, longer and requires very little maintenance. After a short time using it I actually found I liked the heft of the knife over a comparable stainless blade.

I work in kitchens all day and this knife has never failed me. It is sturdy, sharp, and feels great in the hand. It looks fantastic as well. Although they can seem expensive compared to other knives I have found it to be a very worthwhile purchase and completely worth the price. I recommend Steelport to anyone the asks.

Balanced and Sensitive...and Sharpening Their Steel a Joy.
I have two 8” chefs and a paring but here I will talk about the chef knife. It is so well weighted that it is perfectly balanced in my hand. A full grip on the handle for a chop or tough slice and a index finger forward on the blade for fine light slicing, all my prep has been exacting and fun. The coffee method they use to finish the blade not only looks beautiful, it also brings on a slow subtle patina more beautiful than straight carbon steel knifes. The bolsters and butts patina quicker.. probably because I’m overly focused on cleaning the blade. Every knife is sharp out-of-the-box, but I got a good three weeks of prepping every night without a sharpening.. just used a ceramic steel every couple of days. I have just sharpened on the stone for the first time and the new edge is perfect. About 15 light swipes each way and my Steelport is passing the paper test. Love holding and using it. Exceptional customer service in my experience. Looking for a Nakiri from Steelport next…?

Great Craftsmanship, Thick Behind the Edge
This is a beautiful knife with a unique design. Love that it is 52100 carbon steel. Very durable edge and comfortable handle. The coffee patina is efficient. Great for Western cooking. I would have preferred that it was thinner behind the edge but then it would not be as durable. I am also used to wa-handles so I would have preferred a more blade heavy balance but that is difficult with western handles.

What a work of art!
Wow! I’m pretty new to the world of quality knifes.What a fantastic introduction. I picked mine up at the Portland Knife House and I could not be more impressed. It’s is a work of art and also feels amazing in my small hands. Sharp. Well balanced. Beautiful to look at and makes cooking a joy. Seriously. I’m trying to convince my partner we need a slicer and a paring knife too. Keep up the great work Steelport. I look forward to my next purchase.

Ahhhh!!! It's so beautiful!!!
My partner surprised me with a Steelport knife for Christmas! I have been wanting a more “fancy” knife recently because I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Oh, wow! Absolutely beautiful! It is fancy in the coolest way, and I can’t wait to expand my collection! I want them all! But for now, I have the 8″ and I am so glad he went with that size. It feels so nice in my hand. The handle is absolutely my favorite part. It slices like a dream. It’s everything I hoped for in a fancy knife. And crafted by amazing people…. ugh, just all around awesome. Thank you so much! <3

Amazing piece of equipment
I love this knife. It feels solid and balanced to hold, the action is perfect, and it stays sharp, all while looking eye-poppingly gorgeous! The customer service team cannot be beat, either. I had an issue (caused by a house sitter and a dishwasher…) and the folks at Steelport truly came through for me. LOVE!

I can’t say enough good things about the 8” chef knife. I am totally comfortable with the grip and makes cutting through tough vegetables and meats a breeze. “Like a knife cutting through butter” fits with this cooking tool. The difference is that everything you cut seems like butter.

Best Knife I have ever used!
I was amazed at how much better this knife was than my previous kitchen knife. Once I started using it I can never go back another knife. It feel amazing in my hands and cuts through everything from meat to vegetables very easily.
This was my first carbon steel knife and was worried about potentially harming it, but care very easy and is now second nature.
Can’t wait to get the bread knife soon!

Love this blade
After using my Steelport knife for over a month now you will be happy to know that it has replaced my regular go to’s as my everyday knife on the line. I use it for 90% of my everyday tasks and stays with me during service as well. And after being used heavily everyday, it’s still razor sharp. Thank you guys again, I love this blade.

Wow!
I’ve given it a 6 month road test and…well, I can’t think of a thing negative to say about this knife. It is damn sharp, retains its edge better than my Japanese knives and just feels great in the hand.
The only thing I will say, when that first discoloration appears, it’s like seeing the first scratch on a new car. It stings…but the patina just keeps getting better.

Best Bread Knife - No Question!
The bread knife is one of the kind. All the bread knives I had used, or seeing in the market, are all afterthoughts with low quality build. Having 65 Rockwell hardness on a serrated knife is insane but the result is an amazing long-lasting knife. It’s used for so much more than just bread around our kitchen.

THE bread knife
Steelport has created an absolutely amazing knife here. I have a fairly deep collection of knives and had been looking for a bread knife to add to my collection. I ended up going with Steelport for the fact that I’ve bought knives from Eytan before. Eytan taught me a lot about steels and treatments in our interactions at Portland Knife House. I have nothing but praise to give this blade. Everyone I’ve let use it, instantly raves. We call it the lightsaber. We have a sourdough that it just bites right into and tons of light buns that it glides through. The handle is a great shape and is a striking color and the design will be different each time. The blade is ground super well. I haven’t had any issue with straying and it’s so sharp there is minimal pressure being used. I recommend this knife to anyone who cuts lots of bread. Technically you could use this knife as a standard blade and it would cut whatever you put in front of it. However I’m sure Eytan’s chef’s chef knife is amazing so I’d suggest you look that direction for a proper prep knife. Thank you Eytan for the work you took to make these blades a reality. I’m sure everyone who gets their hands on one will be greatly pleased.

Surprising nimble!
Given my experience with the Steelport’s 8” chef knife, I wasn’t surprised at how this slicer cut through our weekend party jam. But it was a nice surprise to find it so comfortable to hold and maneuver even with the full 10” size. Great work!

Love this knife
Love this 4″ paring knife. It’s my go to knife for trimming brisket and veggies. I just feel in control of the knife. It fits perfectly and cuts through meat, veggies and fruit like butter. Very sharp and agile. Love it…Well I love all my STEELPORT knives.

Knife sharpening class
Eytan and Sean were great at explaining the do’s and dont’s of knife sharpening. The hands on class really enabled you to understand and develop technique for doing this. Really enjoyed the class.

Bought the entire set of knives, which quickly became my favorites. Later, bought the knife stand, which, unfortunately, arrived damaged (possibly due to carrier treating the box carelessly. Steelport quickly and with no hassle replaced the damaged stand Combo of knives and stand not only function fantastically, but also Grace my kitchen with their beauty.

Bought a full set on lline as a gift. Then bought a 3 piece set from a local St Louis dealer for my wife. The online experience was good…. Your marketing led me to discover your brand. The in-person experience was different in that the dealer carried many brands, yours being on the higher end. Had I not been familiar with Steelport I probably would not have left with a set of your knives.

I have the complete set of knives Steelport makes along with the knife rack. Very nice quality look and feel. I have other knives that my wife and step son use. My Steelport set is just for me. Best All Around Knives In My Kitchen
I received the 3-Piece set as a gift for Christmas. These knives are as functional as they are beautiful. I have them stored next to some of the best German and Japanese knives and they are the center of attention. These knives are the best of both worlds. Extremely sharp and well balanced like a Japanese. Not quite to the Japanese level but the blade angle is different. I haven’t had an issues cutting anything. They also have the strength and durability that I like in my German knives. These however knives do require the most maintenance. It’s worth it. Keep a clean rag next to you and constantly keep the blade dry. I would apply blade oil more often than they recommend.

Perfectly balanced
Honestly, I’m quite stunned. I have a number of forged knives, and carbon steel knives, and this STEELPORT blade is miles above them. Perfectly balanced, slick metal and it stays incredibly sharp. It’s easy to clean and maintain – which is where I find most knives in this category have challenges.

I’ve been collecting Japanese carbon steel knives for 20 years. The STEELPORT knife is not a laser like the Takeda knives I cherish but it has lived up to its hype in the 3 weeks I’ve been using it as an everyday knife. Sharp as could be out of the box. I hone on ceramic before each use and it has remained razor sharp. Highly recommend…it’s a great American product and the paring knife is next.
